Thai Traditional Long-boat Race – 55 paddlers featuring eight teams from the various provinces around Thailand known for their prowess in traditional long-boat races. King's Cup Elephant Polo 2005
Tournament
The King's Cup Elephant Polo Tournament, the popular sport of kings, returns to the 'Royal Paradise' of Hua Hin, Thailand for a fifth consecutive year in 2005.
Organised by the Anantara Resort and Spa Hua Hin in association with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the event features some of the world’s top horse polo players. Phuket Vegetarian Festival
The Phuket Vegetarian Festival is an annual event held during the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar. It is believed that the vegetarian festival and its accompanying sacred rituals bestow good fortune upon those who religiously observe this rite. During this time, local residents of Chinese ancestry strictly observe a 10-day vegetarian or vegan diet for the purposes of spiritual cleansing and merit-making. Sacred rituals are performed at various Chinese shrines and temples and aesthetic displays such as walking barefooted over hot coals and ascending ladders with bladed rungs are performed by entranced devotees known as "Ma Song"......

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is sponsoring the 12th annual international Laguna Phuket Triathlon in 2005 making it the tenth consecutive year in which TAT has extended support to the event which has consistently drawn over 450 competitors from over 30 countries. King's  Guardial Military Troops Parade.
Their Majesties the King and Queen preside over this impressive annual event, held in the Royal Plaza near the Equestrian Statue of King Chulalongkorn. Dressed in colourful uniforms amid much pomp and ceremony, members of the elite Royal Guards swear allegiance to the King and march past members of the Royal Family.

The deep reverence felt by all Thais for their King is perhaps unique in the modern world, and his birthday provides an annual occasion for public expression. Government buildings, businesses, and homes all over the country are elaborately decorated and the area around the Grand Palace and Ratchadamnoen Avenue are spectacularly illuminated.  On December the 5th a big celebration can be seen at Sanam Luang at night when thousands of people gather to lit their candles and sing a song to honour H.M.  the King .A long and impressive set of firework is displayed for their special occasion.  His birthday is also celebrated as "Fathers'Day" in Thailand
